What is Healing?

“And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Now to our God and Father be the glory forever and ever.”

Philippians 4:19-20 NKJV

The truth is that we live in a fallen world, where trauma, abandonment, sickness, and death exists. This was not God’s initial plan. He built a world where man and God could dwell together. But when the fall happened, imperfection came in and infected everything. The enemy found a foothold and has one plan: to kill, steal, and destroy. This means we are in a fight. In war, there are casualties and injuries. But we do serve a God, who heals. We can read the gospels to see that and know that. For example, Luke 6:19, “And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all.

What is God's Will for Healing?

“Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness–by whose stripes you were healed.

1 Peter 2:24 NKJV

This is saying, that the 39 lashes that Jesus received on His back that should have killed Him were to heal our wounds. Any hurt, pain, illness, and etc there is hope in Jesus. The Healer, who saves us and makes us whole. We must give our burdens to Him for Him to heal them. If God wills for all men to be saved, 1 Timothy 2:3-4, who takes us from being dead in our ways, to being alive in Him must want us healed. He didn’t just will His Son to die on the cross, but to go through the things leading up to it. That was the beatings and the stripes that were put on His back. Child of God hear this, there is hope and healing for the pain you are in.

How do you Heal?

“Cast your burden on the LORD, and He shall sustain you; He shall never opermit the righteous to be moved.

Psalm 55:22 NKJV

As hard as it is, we must pray and ask God to help us heal. God will heal us if we let Him in. Let Him take it and help our hearts. There is no timeline when it comes to grief and healing. But there is hope that tomorrow will be better as we pray through all the hurt. Below are scriptures for you to read and pray over yourself when you don’t have the words. When the pain is crippling, but know the Word is living and true. Stand firm, Child of God, and know the love of the Father. The Word says, Philippians 4: 7, “and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Believe that God can and will give you that peace.

What does the Word say?
